Belgravia, London's prestigious district for lovers of interior design, art, antiques and fine furniture, is preparing to host the new flagship store of Carl Hansen & Son.
The shop, which will cover an area of approximately 220 m², will display collections by Danish design masters such as Poul Kjærholm, Mogens Koch, Arne Jacobsen and Børge Mogensen.
Another showroom opened by the well-known brand after the one opened in 2015 in Clerkenwell dedicated to the contract market.
The location of the opening of the new store was no coincidence: Pimlico Road, in fact, is a reference point for all planners and interior designers in search of high-quality, handcrafted furniture.
This second location will be dedicated to retail, and is a response to the growing British demand for Danish 1950s design furniture, which has seen the UK among the brand's top three export markets.
The interior of the new store at Carl Hansen & Son They recall the brand's history, combining classic colours such as dark green, burgundy, light grey and dark blue, with oak flooring and a vintage teak counter from CEO Knud Erik Hansen's previous employment at the historic Danish transport company East Asiatic Company.
