Inspiration comes from theancient berber culture and Moroccan and then lead on a journey of integration between Mediterranean culture and Eastern traditions, drawing on the one hand on the history and taste of the nomadic peoples of North Africa, and on the other on the wisdom and skill of Indian craftsmen.
Let's talk about Nomadone of the new proposals signed Carpet Edition.
Declined in the Atlas, Clan and Dune versionsEach Nomad carpet is made in India and processed exclusively by hand through a long and laborious process that starts with a drawing on graph paper, where each square corresponds to a knot. The entire manufacturing process, from the carding and colouring of the yarns to the washing, passing through the manual knotting, involves many people and makes it possible to create a unique piece each time, where variations in colour or small irregularities testify to the beauty of an entirely handmade product.
I carpets from the Nomad Atlas collection bring back the textile tradition of Moroccan culture. The materials used are wool, bamboo and cotton, drawing geometric patterns on the carpets in colours that evoke the landscapes of the Atlas mountain range.
I Nomad Clan are characterised by linear designs, inspired by Berber clan symbols, nature, beliefs and the changing seasons. Made of wool and cotton, they include a fringed border, as is typical in the tradition of nomadic tribes.
La Nomad Dune line is characterised by a longer pile length, with a movement that suggests the freedom with which the wind plays in the desert, creating spectacular sand dunes: the result is a carpet with a highly original aesthetic and emotional impact.
To realise the Bamboo Design collection, Carpet Edition has chosen to collaborate with Emanuela Garbin and Michela BogliettiIt is a line of carpets that are worked and carved so finely as to create magnificent three-dimensional patterns.
Made of bamboo and cotton, their long manufacturing process consists of a series of complex manual steps: after preparing the yarn by carding, spinning and dyeing, it is knotted on a loom to create a polychrome carpet, rich in ton-sur-ton nuances; only later do the craftsmen intervene with careful and precise carving, thanks to which it is possible to see various designs inspired by the natural world outlined on the surface.
Elegant fragments of travel are recounted in these carpets that are true snapshots of breathtaking panoramas: Ground, with its warm colours and irregular lines, is reminiscent of wheat fields or arid expanses of land set ablaze by the sun; Iceberg, with its geometric patterns and grey shades, is inspired by the silence of glaciers; Jungle, in which the three-dimensional weave reproduces the veins of leaves, transports you to an unusual, verdant vegetation; Seashell, with its delicate semi-circular carvings, evokes long beaches beaten by waves.
The Bamboo Shaded collectionFinally, it surprises with the suggestive effect of the yarn, capable of catching and making the eye lose itself among countless nuances. Offered in eight colour variants, the carpets are made from 90% bamboo and 10% cotton using the loom knotting technique. The weft, made up of a single long thread, is passed perpendicularly to the warp to create the weave and pile, and in this way, creating a polychrome dyeing, enchanting plays of light and shade, each time unique.
The inherent qualities of natural materials such as bamboo and cotton repel dust and mites, prevent pilling, make the carpets resistant even to underfloor heating and give them an extraordinary level of comfort.
