Offering travellers a completely new welcome, combining an extraordinary emotional impact with absolute technical and organisational efficiency: this is the project realised by the Studio Marco Piva at Malpensa airport, Alitalia House.
The idea was to create an environment that would convey a sense of home rather than a transit area, with a decidedly more familiar organisation of spaces, all to be experienced. A welcoming entrance, quiet relaxation areas and several spaces dedicated to refreshments: the atmosphere created is in every way that commonly attributed to Italy, full of warmth in welcoming tourists and travellers from all over the world.
As much the form and organisation of the spaces as the very idea of themonumental entrance which leads inside Alitalia House are reflected in the design of the wide doorway of a typical Italian palace, which transports travellers from the chaotic scenery of the Milan airport to an inviting, quiet, sophisticated space.
In the completely renovated halls of the Milan airport, visitors can relax in the area live cookingor tasting fine Italian and foreign wines, as well as enjoying all the excellent products typical of production Made in Italy.
Lo Studio Piva has realised at Malpensa another great little marvel of Italian hospitality, once again making its mark on the Italian design and space planning scene.
