The appointment is online. From 15 to 21 June we will experience the first Digital Fuorisalone annexing virtual territories where design will experiment with further forms of communication.
DESIGN THROUGH is the capsule edition with which Tortona Rocks will represent the Tortona district in this digital chapter, to cross over into new design dimensions.
Between sustainability, circular economy and technology: design that can change the world. This year, Tortona Rocks #5 will tell us about its journey into the world of design, without entering the post-industrial spaces of Opificio 31 and the redeveloped architecture of the Tortona district, but will present a capsule edition - DESIGN THROUGH - which will allow us to digitally experience many of the leading issues animating the contemporary design debate.

It will do so as a PATH within the platform Fuorisalone.it.
Since 2016, in fact, Tortona Rocks is one of the most interesting design frames of Milan Design Week that helps to decode current trends in the design world, but it is also a narrative of a composite district in perpetual transformation that is the Tortona area.
A contemporary format which has made experimentation its philosophy and which, this year, will be the protagonist of a profoundly renewed edition.

The palimpsest of contents dematerialises, abandoning the physical form of the installation and exhibition, and is enriched with alternative languages to communicate: videos, webinars and online launches of new collections will make it possible to reach the international audience that flocks to Milan every year to celebrate design.
Virtual visitors will thus be involved in a large hypertext, including in-depth information and special documents, which, like an on-demand channel, will be available at any time.

The selection of projects that Tortona Rocks presents to the Digital Fuorisalone will be a journey through manufacturing, circular economy, sustainability and technology to show how design crosses disciplinary barriers to produce solutions under the banner of the convergence of knowledge by presenting alternative and innovative proposals to restore the relationship between man and nature.
The furniture design of Norwegian Presence proposes a new aesthetic of sustainability evolving under the banner of the circular economy with a collection that winks at art collecting; the young designers of Worth Partnership Project - trans-European research initiative - will show how design can be reinvented in a changing world through experimentation with new materials and digital innovation, Totguard in collaboration with Pinwu will present Weaving Foresta set of new furniture modules made entirely of bamboo, a traditional Chinese material; Mentemano will show a collection of architecturally characterised furniture while The Playful Living, a co-design platform, will aim to discover, understand and interpret the vast world of products and services that gravitate around the family system.
