It is called Diphy the lamp of Mirko Crosatto for Linea Light Group recalling the Diphylleia Grayialso called skeleton flower o crystal flowerbecause of those petals that on contact with water reveal white veins and become completely transparent, like small crystals.
Diphy: LED technology from Linea Light Group
Linea Light Group is the Italian company pioneering the LED technology former winner of the Red Dot Award 2017 (one of the world's major design awards) and received an Honourable Mention at the last Compasso d'Oro in Milan.
It is a light, elegant and functional lamp. It consists of a very thin white painted aluminium bar, which houses the LED source, while a light fills the PMMA diffuser (a plastic material made of methyl methacrylate polymers) to distribute it in the underlying plane, thanks to the characteristic pattern of micro laser engravings (OptiLight Technology™ exclusive to Linea Light Group).
The idea of Linea Light Group is to study solutions that can guarantee quality and efficiency in every situation. Diphy responds to a design requirement where extreme transparency contrasts with the brightness of the lamp when lit.
In the pendant version, several hanging leaves seem to fall pushed by a gentle breeze. In the free-standing version, just one leaf, large and bright, is enough to add a touch of elegance to any room.
Diphy is a bright flower: when light radiates into the room, thanks to the support of the floor lamp, its petals seem to absorb energy.
