An installation to celebrate 50 years of Fantin
To mark the brand's anniversary, the new collection of furniture design Fantin: it is called Frame and bears the signature of Salvatore Indriolo, Art Director of the famous design brand since 2013.
Exhibited during the Milan Design Week 2018 at Eligo Studioin Via Palermo 8, will be alongside the installation site specific Amuletswhose name holds the key to the interpretation of the entire project: Amlet is in fact an anagram of Metalthe real protagonist and leitmotiv of the exhibition.

Metal is the material that best represents the experience and stylistic signature of Fantin, a brand that has been able, perhaps more than any other, to reinterpret its multifaceted potential and explore its possible uses, in a journey through technology, innovation and creativity.
The project has a minimal and strongly expressive design, characterised by light lines, but with a strong structural solidity, a common factor between the various modules.
The collection lights up 40 different shadesfrom the most neutral to the most intense colours, for a variety of aesthetic solutions; a stylistic simplification that embraces flexibility, to make possible solutions tailor-made, which include cupboard of different sizes, tables and a kitchen workstation.
Eligo Studiolocated in the heart of the Brera Design Districtwill therefore be the site of the installation site specific where we can observe the programme Frame and all the beauty of metal: 5 rooms will house different totemic sculptures, macro talismans entirely made with pieces from the Frame collection, together with other Fantin must-haves such as the Binary.
Interview with Salvatore Indriolo: when design is stylistic simplification
To sign Frame is the designer Salvatore Indriolo, Art Director at Fantin, collaborator of companies of the calibre of Bosa Ceramiche, Falper, Dorsal, Horm, Manfrotto Group, Minotti Cucine, Sensai and Zanotta. His works, which range from furniture to fashion accessories, from lighting design to equipment for the entertainment industry, follow a precise creative process, which aims at the search for maximum stylistic simplification. The project realised for Fantin is a clear expression of this.
We met the designer, who told us about this project and much more.
D.L.: Where does the inspiration for Frame come from?
S.I.Fantin is a company that is 50 years old this year, and has always worked with metal.
Since 2013 I have been its artistic director, with the aim of converting this historic company - predominantly a subcontractor - into a Design Company. After an initial phase of restyling of existing products and revisiting all sales tools, we have in recent years come to the need to propose new productsalways transversal, but with aspecial attention to the home world. This opened a second phase - still in progress - which envisages the expansion of the offer for an international market that is now receptive, proactive and interested in Fantin. Hence the idea of the Frame programme, which encompasses various product types and is based on 3 simple rules:- all frames, which are always constructed with a 3.5×3.5 cm square tube, allow orthogonal structures to be designed, making it possible to create any product: from table to sideboard, from kitchen to mirrors;
- the vertical elements (doors, drawers, sides and backs) are open and flush with the frame;
- the horizontal elements (tables, tops, sideboards) are only a few millimetres thin and rest on the frame, which always remains visible.Frame thus allows streamlined production management, thanks to its unified construction characteristics, and we hope it will be easily recognisable on the market because, despite its aesthetic simplicity, it has several original features, first and foremost the frame always in view, almost as if to pay homage to the frame as such and the metal itself that makes it up, which represents Fantin's soul. Today we present sideboards, sideboards, kitchen workstations, tables and other accessories, but the Frame system - in fact infinite - can be adapted with its technical and aesthetic characteristics to any other type of furniture, should the market require it.
