In this last year, marked by health restrictions, the FoodDesignStories which designs and organises events to promote emerging designers, has not stopped and has devised a new strategy to support and network the best talents it has encountered over the years. Thus was born the FOOD DESIGN SECRETS a virtual store dedicated to independent Made In Italy brands.

La platform offers visitors the opportunity to explore and come into contact with workshops, creative studios and concept stores located throughout Italy. Realities that are not massified and not known to the general public, but capable of proposing innovative products and pursuing a quest for absolute quality. A journey from the real to the virtual along the entire peninsula and islands to get to know the secret addresses of magical places.
A journey of discovery of the excellence made in Italy that did not give up even during the pandemic; a map of the heart among places full of emotions, of passions, where beauty is cultivated daily.
Some make unique ceramic pieces, others designs interiors and home gardensthose who paint, those who sew and embroider textiles, and those who market local products.
A kaleidoscope of styles and knowledge that has the 'flavour' of a contemporary grand tour: a tour from Veneto to Sardinia to discover 'food for the mind' (hence the decision to associate the words Food and Design in the project name).

Food Design Secrets was created with the aim of creating a network of activities and giving life to a widespread virtual district of self-produced excellence. In fact, the spirit is to revive the cultural and artisan work that has been hard hit by the closures imposed by the health quarantine.
To do this, the platform allows exchanges to be organised between exhibitors, which broaden the offer of workshops, attract new audiences and trigger creative collaborations. Products made in Sicily, for example, thus move to Milan or Turin (and vice versa), expanding sales circuits.

The site, organised as an interactive map, shows the geographical location of each business and offers insights into the history and techniques of each craftsman. Potential customers and interested parties are kept up-to-date on news through posts on social channels, downloadable digital materials and newsletters.
The platform also bears the creative imprint of its founders Caterina Misuraca and Sandra FaggianoIt spontaneously proposes 'matches' between exhibitors. Like a dating app, it identifies compatible realities and - through photo aggregations and collages - suggests collaborations, fuels the creative and synergetic district to realise comparisons, exchanges and shared activities.
At a time in history that should have taught us that 'union is strength', this digital project becomes a flywheel of opportunity for the professionalism, skills and creativity that are the true treasures of our country. Each brand registered in the Negozio Diffuso is in fact not just a name and an address, but becomes an important chapter in the fluid and dreamlike global story.
