An exclusive corner shop within the store of Harrodsin the heart of London. Ghidini 1961 (click here) has opted for a mise en scén of its own production, from elegant accessories to tables and upholstered furniture. A stylistic feature clearly expressed by the pay-off Brass design for life. A layout that expresses care and just as much rigour as each individual product.
Ghidini 1961 is the design brand headed by art director Stefano Giovannoniwhich in 2016 formed a diverse creative group whose task is to enhance the values of brass. This is a material, generally neglected by contemporary design, which is now making a comeback thanks to the manual skills of individuals to enhance its values.
Harrods, the department store that displays and sells luxury clothing and gifts, can now count on an all-Italian excellence. Inside the corner shop, inside the niches with their large mirrored doors, and carried by the light Legs shelves, are the complements and accessories illuminated by the hanging lamps of the various collections.
The Legs dining table, in Calacatta Oro marble and glass (designed by Paolo Rizzatto), accompanied by Nika Zupanc's Love Chairs, is the centrepiece of the installation. At the centre of the corner is a large pillar covered with mirrors, a fundamental multiplier of perspectives. A game of intriguing and fascinating reflections, which capture the gaze, drawing those who pass by.
The arrangement of the pieces has been carefully calibrated to create a recognisable and familiar home effect. The elegant Legs dining area is flanked by the slender Katana armchairs (design Paolo Rizzatto), in direct dialogue with the Da Vinci coffee tables (design Richard Hutten).
On the longest wall is the ethereal Legs bookcase, made of transparent glass, as an exceptional display for Harrods. Completing the backdrop is the Miami console table (design Nika Zupanc) accompanied by its precious round Sunset Mirror. The dark background of the walls contrasts with and enhances the lustre of the brass.
Space Ghidini 1961 in London, in just a few strokes, sums up the company's high craftsmanship, highlighting its Italian character, elegant and unique, distinguishable in the world. Harrods is a prestigious international showcase, within which the history of the company, the history of part of Italian design, is told.
