HANG. Seeding the future. It is the name of theinstallation dedicated to the world of crops above ground as a response to the alarming scenario that is characterising our time. Presented by the architectural firm Dfa Partners in collaboration with Group Buildingspecialising in redevelopment projects and sustainable solutions, the project is evocative and plays on the drama of the situation
in progress - that of a planet in which the survival of living forms is being seriously questioned in the absence of urgent and no longer postponable remedies - and the solution stemming from the 'floating roots' - or hanging, from the English 'hang' - elements characterising the new modes of production.
It will be possible to admire Hang at Via Tortona 21, at the Milan headquarters of the Building Group, thanks to an experiential installation in which to rediscover the fascinating world of plants and, in particular, their roots. An artistic expression that launches a message of urgency, underlining how we need a more ethical and sustainable approach to recalibrate our relationship with the planet, limiting our impact on the environment and the consumption of resources.
In the space, an attic floor reminiscent of a large greenhouse, it will be possible to take a close look at an aeroponic cultivation laboratory and learn in more detail about the advantages such practices can offer, including low energy, land and water consumption as well as high levels of hygiene and compatibility with the living environment.
It is, in fact, a futuristic process where design, architecture, technology and innovation converge and that the Group Building and Daniele Fiori - DFA Partnerswith the support of Agricooltur, have also brought to the city context, in the Milanese residential complex Forrest in Town, adjacent to Milan's Naviglio Grande, the first to
produce food for the residential community, thus laying the foundations for a new form of urban configuration with cultivation poles within the city.

HANG-designlifestyle-2We are at the dawn of a new design paradigm, which will help define not only the aspects already analysed, but also consumption and nutrition. Precisely for this reason, during the Design Weekin the via Tortona venue there will also be space for the food design by IFSE, Italian Food Style Education. The week will also be enriched by talks and insights on the topic of sustainability, the relationship between man and nature and the importance of restoring a biodiversity in the city.
The idea of cultivating above ground is a solution that can bring about change,' he explained architect Daniele Fiori - Bringing this technology into the city revolutionises the way we relate to the urban context, putting it inside a housing complex opens up scenarios that were unimaginable until recently. And why not use unused spaces, why not fill in disused places in the city! And here is the first step: this is our help, our idea, what seems to us a duty of gratitude to participate in the salvation of the world that hosts us!"
