Olivari. Handles made in Italy since 1911

Since 1911 Olivari manufactures handles in Italyin-house, where the entire production cycle takes place. One hundred years in which work is a company asset, which requires respect for high standards and guarantees recognition of the merits and abilities of each individual, a sign of a shared feeling of belonging, an attention and care that tells more than many words how the company is also everyone's home. Pride and team spirit, but also a form of natural elegance.
Making everyday objects of absolute beauty has certainly also involved those who work to transform the idea and the designer's conceptthus making him aware that he is the creator and at the same time belongs to this beauty.
In 1992, the company felt the need to communicate this history, and this is how the book 'Architecture taken by the hand', edited by Stefano Casciani.
It was also an opportunity seized to reorganise the extensive documentation of the work of the first and second Olivari entrepreneurial generations, together with important masters of modern and contemporary architecture.
Now the company has decided, on the threshold of its 100th anniversary, to take stock of the last twenty years of entrepreneurial activity conducted by the latest Olivari generation, and it does so with an
new book, Macchina Semplice (Simple Machine), which describes further research, technological innovations and collaborations, new or already established, with architects and designers from all over the world who were called upon to measure themselves against the design of a product that is only apparently as simple as the handle. This book started a new and exciting challenge: a travelling exhibition.
La history of the handle told on panelswith both iconic and modern images and products. An exhibition that began in Spain, at the Zaragoza Furniture Fair from 21 to 24 January, and will be shown at the country's main design fairs and continue its journey month after month.
Not just a simple handle, which often bears the signature of an important name, a famous architect, a successful designer, but an object born from the daily attention of many.
