50 Years of Pink Floyd - Their Mortal Remains Exhibition

It will start on 13 May and end on 1 October this year Their mortal remainslargest exhibition ever organised on the Pink Floydon the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the publication of "Arnold Layne', the band's first single dated 1967.

Pink Floyd marked the history of British rockThey succeeded in rewriting the musical vocations of their era, thus establishing themselves as one of the most important groups in music history. Despite the fact that in the early days the group mainly focused on psychedelic music and the so-called space rockthe genre that best defines the band's undertaking is certainly the progressive rock. Pink Floyd has been estimated to have sold over 300 million records worldwide, establishing itself as one of the most incisive groups in the world music scene and influencing subsequent music considerably.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the band's career, in 2016 the UK's leading postal company released a series of 10 stamps dedicated exclusively to the best albums composed by the band.

"Their Mortal Remains' at the Victoria and Albert Museum

The exhibition will be hosted by the Victoria and Albert Museum, the world's leading museum of art and design, which houses a permanent collection of more than 2.3 million objects. Established in 1852, following the huge success of the Great Exhibition in previous years, its founding principle is to make works of art available to all, not only for educational purposes but also as an inspiration for British designers and manufacturers.

This is the first anthological exhibition of one of the world's most iconic and influential bands. An extraordinary and sensational journey through a multi-sensory experience in the world of Pink Floyd: music, design and staging of the band, from their debut in the 1960s to the present day.
