The event will start on 23 April and will last for six months at Giarre, in Sicily. An exhibition of plant installations, with gardens designed by internationally renowned landscape architects, exhibitions, cultural meetings, concerts and experiential workshops.
“The festival dedicated to garden design and landscape architecture stems from the desire to realise landscape culture and to bring back the values, benefits and importance of living en plein air"commented Mario Farovice-president of the foundation.
It is in fact the first edition of the Garden Festivalpromoted by the foundation Radicepura.
Protagonists of the event will be Pablo Georgieff, Sarah Eberle, Alfio Bonanno, Emilio Isgrò.
Until 21 October, in the Radicepura Botanical Park, it will be possible to admire no less than fourteen gardens, created with the most original plants cultivated by Piante Faro, which has 800 species and over 5000 varieties.
At the heart of the festival will be precisely the celebration of the garden, not only in its aesthetic and cultural value, but also in its role as an ideal place to pause from daily routine and take time to admire beauty.
Participants
Participating in this first edition are four internationally renowned garden designers who will create gardens of around 150 square metres each for the festival. Also present will be the French landscape gardener Michel Péna, Stefano Passerotti and the English landscaper James Basson.
A further six smaller gardens will be created by young landscape architects, chosen through an international call for entries that attracted over 200 applicants from all over the world.
