The elegant collection of wooden chairs 118 designed by Sebastian Herkner for Thonet is enriched with the new, comfortable 118 H bar chair available with moulded seat, woven guinea cane and upholstered version.
The new chairs have the same formal peculiarities as the 118 chair, designed to meet today's needs in the home and catering sector where the trend towards high tables and counters is established. Available in two heights (65 and 75 cm), they are equipped with a small backrest that offers suitable support for the back, allowing one to sit comfortably for a long time.
A simple and refined designwhich aims to create a bridge between the Thonet tradition and contemporary design by minimising the number of components in a chair.
Inspired byThonet's archetypal 214 model, the new 118 H bar chair features a seat upholstered in woven guinea cane and whose frame is formed from a single curved piece.
The variant with upholstered seat completes the range, offers even more comfort and seduces with its successful contrast between the elegant, minimalist shape of the wooden elements and the comfortable upholstery.
The collection is understated and elegant and is completed by the version with a contoured seat. The 118 H also has rounded legs at the back and straight legs, with two slightly rounded corners, at the front, thus echoing the horseshoe shape of the sitting.
