Stories that are read, stories that are observed and experienced. The tale of beauty and elegance passes through the wallpapers signed by Matteo Stucchi for Limonta. Once again, the designer immerses us in distant worlds, paying homage with 'The Rooms of Fernec'to the timeless charm of Villa d'Este through a collection of wallpapers that tell its story.
Five cards are inspired by the artistic and cultural style of the period, and that of the original tapestry of the musician's flat Franz Liszt. Five rooms that have elements of continuity, conceptual and artistic, evoking the period of Mannerism and the baroque.
A background that appears to be marked by time and the frame that gathers and enhances the different illustrations, with the frame inspired by the curved lines typical of the Baroque, the sinuous patterns (ellipses, spirals), the motifs that intertwine with each other in such a way as to be almost indecipherable.
The first map is a reproduction of the villa's courtyard, seen from above, in which the extent and majesty of one of the most characteristic courtyards among European villas of the period is emphasised.
The focus then shifts to certain precise details of the villa's courtyard: the fountains, grottos and statues. The paper seeks to recreate the magnificent play of water and light, which one witnesses as one walks through the courtyard. The third card is a representation of the most important personalities who have marked the style of Villa d'Este for artistic, cultural and architectural reasons. The Fourth Card is a homage to the musician Frank Liszt who is depicted in various years of his life. The fifth card again pays homage to Franz Liszt and incorporates Christian elements typical of the area of the villa where the cardinal's flats were located, i.e. the area below the musician's study.
A historic textile company, for over a century synonymous with refinement of style and preciousness of workmanship, Limonta brings elegance and refinement to the stage, the art that furnishes and enriches spaces giving them a meaning of true preciousness, that which is represented by the uniqueness of a product... or of a story.
