It is the last frontier ofsports carthe future of mobility. It is called Taycan and is the new all-electric car from Porsche.
The project is called "Mission E"and represents another breakthrough in hybrid technology.
This is an area that is finding fertile ground and increasing sensitivity on the part of car manufacturers, not least because the market is demanding it.
In short, the secret to remaining competitive at this historic moment is to develop vehicles that have high sporting performance and at the same time are as environmentally friendly as possible.
And that is exactly what happened in Stuttgart, home of the renowned Porsche company, which launched the prototype to mark its 70th anniversary.
Certainly the name Taycan brings back more oriental than German suggestions, and means foal full of life, referring to the image at the centre of the company's coat of arms.
An investment, the Porschein the electric mobility quantified at more than EUR 6 billion by 2022, and approximately EUR 500 million for the development of the variants that will result from the Taycan hybrid car.
Powered by a pair of permanent magnet synchronous motors, the Taycan will be able to unleash a maximum power output of 600 hp, reaching one hundred kilometres per hour in 3.5 seconds and 200 in about 12, a high level of performance for an electric vehicle. The range is not bad either: about 500 km, with the 80% recharging its battery in just 15 minutes.
