In the wooded area on the outskirts of Copenhagen, the Danish artist Thomas Dambo hid the Six Forgotten Giants, wooden installations with impressive dimensions and a surprisingly friendly appearance.

It is a veritable open-air treasure hunt that travellers passing through Copenhagen can enjoy as they search for the six mammoth wooden figures hidden in as many locations. All six sculptures were carefully assembled from recycled wood and built with the help of a team of local volunteers, who worked tirelessly together with the artist on this irresistibly extravagant project.
Little Tilde, Teddy Friendly, Thomas on the Mountain, Oscar under the Bridge, Hill top Trine and Sleeping Louis are 'carefully hidden in plain sight' at points scattered throughout the forest surrounding the city. Each of the giants was built entirely by hand, taking the necessary timber mainly from fallen trees in the area, as well as from abandoned buildings.
Those lucky enough to come across these amazing figures will discover that with each giant it is possible to interact in a particular way: Little Tildefor example, hides 28 aviaries inside its stomach, while Sleeping Louis can welcome guests inside its wide-open mouth, as if it were a playground.

Little tilde - Vallensbæk:
Resting comfortably on two wide logs, this giant is built exclusively from scrap wood collected from the surrounding area.
Teddy friendly - Høje taastrup
The trees surrounding the giant were used to fur the sculpture.
Thomas on the mountain - Albertslund
Sitting atop a hill, Thomas acts as a lookout over the municipality of Albertslund; local school children were involved in the construction.
Oscar under the bridge - Ishøj
This giant lying under a bridge is entirely assembled with wood from the remains of a watermill and pallets from local businesses.
Hill top trine - Avedøresletten
Visitors can climb into the palm of his hands to get a better view of Avedøresletten in the distance
Sleeping louis - Rødovre
